Low Self Steem

Your self-esteem is how well you think about yourself compared to other people, such as friends, classmates, and workmates or also in your neighborhood.
If you have low self steem, that means that you think you are a lesser person, or a worse person than other people.
Low self steem has many possible causes. Sometimes it could be caused by bad early childhood experiences, such as heavy criticism, being abandoned, feeling unloved, being ridiculed or maybe one of the most important reasons, being sexually abused.
It can also be a symptom of depression.
In some cases, a person with this kind of problems acts as a timid person, but also they could behave as a rude person.
Some signs of this problem are: Putting yourself down all the time, being too scared when you are doing new things, making no effort because you expect to mess things up, being timid, not asserting yourself, losing your temper and blaming other people about your problems.
Most of that signs are also common in shy people; so we can say that these problems are releated.
In some cases, people with low self steem could need a cognitive therapy. That will allow them to release their inhibitions step by step.
That will help them to have a better life, and also their interpersonal relationships will improve.
